The Resort
Proper setup in the middle of nowhere
Telos 101 brings an upper-class experience to one of the most remote corners of Sumatra. Sitting strategically in the middle of the Telo Islands with breaks north and south, plus excellent guiding and two fast boats hitting over 30 knots, you will access a wide zone of quality and often empty setups. Accommodation ranges from the nicer Deluxe Villas to the simpler Standard Villas, all close to the infinity pool and two pristine beaches with sunrise or sunset views. Food is great and service is tight. When not surfing there is plenty to explore and even a small 9 hole golf course on site. Another game changer is the access via private charter plane that avoids long boat rides and nights in Padang.
Accommodation
Telos 101 offers two types of accommodation, all close to the beach and the infinity pool. Standard Bungalows facing East with sunrise views keep things simple, airy, and comfortable, while Deluxe Villas with sunset views add more space, polished finishes, and full air conditioning. Both sit in a quiet natural setting with ocean views or garden views, private verandas, and easy access to the surf boats and main facilities. The rooms within the villas can be booked individually.

THE SURF
LOCATION + SPEED + KNOWLEDGE = FUN
Strategic positioning in the middle of the Telos and just 10 km south of the Equator means one thing. Options. The north and south work with different winds, and the guides know all 20 plus breaks inside out, putting you on the best wave for the day and for your level. With this many possibilities and two fast boats hitting over 30 knots plus a small tender for close strikes, expect everything from playful walls to heavier barrels, often with no other surfers in sight. Bigger swells do open a lot of doors, but Telos does deliver really fun surf any given day with these tools.
DINING
Diverse, Hearty and Honest
Food at Telos 101 is all about keeping surfers happy and fuelled. Expect a mix of Indonesian favourites and Western comfort dishes, all handled by a chef who knows what long days in the water demand. Breakfast covers everything from omelettes and pancakes to fresh fruit and smoothie bowls. Lunch and dinner lean hearty with tacos, BBQ steaks, pizzas, curries, and the crowd-pleasing beef rendang. Snacks are always on hand, especially poolside at sunset time and if someone lands a fish on the way back, expect fresh ceviche or sashimi on the table. All of it backed by an all-day flow of a fresh Sumatran coffee blend.
EXPERIENCES
MORE ON THE MENU
When the surf slows, Telos 101 stays fun. The island's 18 hole golf course is a standout, winding through palms with tricky greens and plenty of laughs. Down times can turn into SUP missions around the point, yoga sessions on the deck, fishing or spearfishing in clear tropical water, or wandering to the nearby village for a real glimpse of local island life and welcoming local culture. The west-facing pool and bar tie it all together with sunset swims, cold drinks, a pool table, and cozy hangouts for easy afternoons.

The Deluxe AC Villas sit steps from the sand on the west side, overlooking the open ocean and right beside the beachfront infinity pool and bar, an unbeatable setup for golden hour. These are the most elevated stays at Telos 101, with full air conditioning, spacious balconies, and uninterrupted views of waves on the Indian Ocean. Each villa has two rooms linked by an interconnecting door, perfect for families or friends wanting space with easy proximity.
Mimpi pairs a king bedroom with indoor bathroom and a separate living area (with futon sofa) on one side, and a second room with two singles that convert to a king plus an open-air bathroom with shower and bathtub.
Indah offers two twin rooms (convertible to a king upon request), each with a covered alfresco bathroom with shower, bathtub, and western toilet facilities.
The three east-facing bungalows sit right on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Telos, with sunrise views and a great snorkel spot just steps away. Two bungalows have a dual-room setup: a Couples or Solo room with one queen bed, and a Twin room with two queen beds divided for privacy. Each room has its own entrance, bathroom with hot water, and western toilet. The third bungalow is an open-plan Mates Room with three queen beds and its own bathroom, perfect for friends. All rooms are fan-cooled, bright, breezy, and fitted with mosquito nets. Hammocks on the upper deck and a board rack below keep things relaxed and functional for early surf missions.
