The Charter
SOLID, STABLE & DIALLED
Sibon Baru is a 62ft modern aluminum catamaran built to work the Mentawais properly. Her twin hulls mean she’s stable at sea, fuel efficient, and quick to react when conditions change. The setup suits surfers who want a reliable platform, calm nights at anchor, smart calls, and a crew that knows exactly what they’re doing. Shared surf charters run with 12 guests and private charters start with a base of 10 paying guests. The focus mirrors her bigger sister Sibon Jaya: comfort, great food, strong service, and the right surf guiding to maximise good times in the water.
Accommodation
Sibon Baru sleeps up to 12 guests in 6x private cabins in the lower deck with twin beds, all air-conditioned and set up for proper rest between sessions. Beds are comfortable, layouts are practical, and everyone has their own space to reset. No dorm-style living here. Shared areas are generous, from the spacious indoor saloon to multiple outdoor decks, so you can chill, nap, stretch, or hang without feeling boxed in. The catamaran platform keeps things steady at anchor, which makes a real difference for sleep quality after long days in the water.

THE SURF
GOOD CALLS ON A SOLID VESSEL
The Mentawai don’t need hype, but they do reward good decisions. Sibon Baru benefits from an experienced guide team that understands timing, crowd patterns, and the full spread of surf breaks across the chain. The crew moves fast to back those calls when conditions shift. Shared charters in prime season focus on proper barrels, while shoulder months tend to offer more user-friendly conditions. Private charters give you full freedom to chase whatever kind of waves you're after. The Mentawai Islands have it all: playful walls, long rides and pristine, perfect barrels to be threaded. Venturing further North is also possible on private charters.
DINING
WELL FED, ALL DAY
Like her bigger sister Jaya, Sibon Baru sits at the top end of Mentawai charter food. Early light breakfasts get you moving, followed by cooked breakfasts made to order after the first session. Lunches stay light enough to keep you sharp but still satisfying. Dinners are generous and relaxed, built around fresh fish, grilled meats, and comfort dishes that hit right after a full day in the ocean. Snacks, fruit, hot drinks, and soft drinks are always available, plus 24 beers per guest included per trip. One of the better floating kitchens in the islands.
EXPERIENCES
MORE IN THE MIX
When you’re not surfing, Sibon Baru lets the islands fill the gaps. The crew is big on fishing and proper gear is onboard, so catching dinner is often part of the day. Snorkelling, SUP paddling, and kayaking in clear lagoons and quiet bays are often possible to mix it up. Time ashore can be arranged to experience empty beaches, village visits, or a simple walk to stretch the legs. Evenings slow down naturally with deck hangs, sunset light, and a cold drink in hand.
