Maki is a beautiful 105-foot Phinisi designed for comfort and with surfers in mind. Built in Sulawesi by renowned boatbuilders, this spacious charter was launched in 2017 and combines traditional craftsmanship with modern amenities. With three expansive decks, multiple lounge areas, and a fully equipped boardroom, there’s plenty of room to relax between sessions and prep for the next. The layout caters equally well to solo surfers, groups or couples, offering privacy when needed and great spaces to socialise. Guests are guided by an experienced crew with years of Mentawai knowledge, ready to get you into the right line-up at the right time. Fuel Up with Healthy, Fresh Meals

Food on Maki is one of the highlights of the trip, with a rotating menu of fresh local and international dishes. Meals include plenty of fresh seafood, meats, and vegetarian options, often inspired by Indonesian and Brazilian favourites. Breakfast starts with a plentiful buffet and made to order dishes. Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day. Dinners are often a lively affair, eaten together in the lounge while reviewing surf photos and videos from the day. From 2025, Maki also introduced more health-conscious menu options for guests looking to stay on top of nutrition during their trip.

Good Vibes On and Off the Water

If you are ever ready for a break, life on Maki can be about more than just surfing. Lounge on the upper deck and take in the sunset, grab the paddleboard for a cruise in the lagoon, or head out snorkelling with the boat’s gear. Maki is also equipped with fishing gear, a spearfishing gun, and even a jet ski (available on request). Cultural excursions or island visits can be arranged depending on location. Indoors, you’ll find a large TV to review footage, and share stories with the crew or fellow surfers. Whether you want adventure, downtime, or a little of both, life on Maki keeps the stoke going between sessions.
