The Charter
Tradition with surf at the helm
Indo Satu is a beautiful teak Phinisi that took five years to build and launched in 2015, blending traditional craftsmanship with a layout made for surf charters. Standard trips run with 9 guests so you won’t crowd the lineup. The shared bunk room is big and cozy, plus there’s a private bunk cabin and a cozy saloon, all cooled by full interior AC and finished in warm teak. Further chill zones spread across the foredeck and top deck where sunsets hit perfectly. With expert guides, a seasoned crew, and a small tender plus a powerful 24 ft chase boat, Indo Satu delivers proper wave hunting across the Mentawais and beyond, standing out as one of the most affordable quality ops for private & shared charters.
Accommodation
Indo Satu keeps things practical and comfortable with a spacious dorm-style cabin holding eight single bunks, plus a private VIP cabin with two single bunk berths for the group leader or a couple. Standard charters run with 9 paying guests but a 10th is possible on request. All spaces are finished in warm teak and fully air conditioned. Two bathrooms sit nearby for easy access, and the layout works well for medium sized groups who want good rest and cozy quarters.

THE SURF
DECADES OF EXPERIENCE IN YOUR CORNER
Indo Satu comes from the same crew that has been running D’Bora since 2007, which means decades of dialled local knowledge guiding every call. She works the Mentawais as her home, with the option to push north toward the Telos or even the Banyaks on pre-set trips. Surf guides know the hidden corners, the crowd patterns, and how to time winds and tides when the forecast looks tricky. Si Lion, her 24 ft aluminum tender with a 200 hp outboard, opens access to more breaks fast and lets groups split between spots. Go hunt everything from playful walls to heavy barrels, backed by real experience earned in the islands.
THE FOOD
WHOLESOME FUEL
Indo Satu feeds surfers right from first light. Mornings kick off with fresh fruit, cereals, and strong Sumatran coffee before the first paddle out. After that, a hot breakfast lands on the table omelets, pancakes, burritos, whatever hits right after a long session. Lunch runs hearty with fish burgers, satay, curries, or nasi goreng. Dinners are big, relaxed spreads with rotating themes and plenty of fresh fish, meats, and local produce. When someone lands a good fish, sashimi usually shows up at sunset. Three cold Bintangs per day are included too.
EXPERIENCES
Simple Days, Good Times
Days on Indo Satu stay simple and good. When the surf’s done or you’re motoring to the next spot, you can fish for dinner, snorkel clear reefs, or hop in the tender to check nearby islands, villages, and empty beaches. The pace stays easy, the water always close. Evenings drift into deck hangs or a beach fire, cold beers in hand, swapping stories with the crew and your mates in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Starlink, is available if you need it.
