NOAH SURF HOUSE

SANTA CRUZ, PORTUGAL

The Resort

RIGHT ON THE SAND

Noah Surf House sits right on the sand at Praia da Física, in the quiet surf town of Santa Cruz, just an hour away from Lisbon. Built with an eco-conscious mindset, that shows in every detail, from the driftwood touches to the rope-strung decor. Eight rooms and thirteen bungalows spread across the property, all a short walk from the rooftop pool, jacuzzi, and skate park. It's a hotel built by surfers for surfers, but with enough on offer, yoga, skate, trekking, that non-surfing partners and kids are just as sorted. This is a perfect family escape that will keep everyone happy.

Accommodation

NATURAL MATERIALS, OCEAN VIEWS

Twenty one rooms and bungalows, each built around sea views, natural materials, and a wood-burning stove for cooler nights. Balconies and terraces come as standard, some open onto the ocean, others look out over garden, and a handful come with their own kitchen for longer stays. Sizes range from simple doubles for two through to larger family-sized bungalows that sleep up to eight, so couples, groups, and families are all covered. No AC here, just sea breeze and underfloor heating, the way Noah likes to keep things running.

THE SURF

TWO SURF CAPITALS, ONE EASY BASE

Santa Cruz is a proper surf town on Portugal's Silver Coast, quieter than its neighbours but every bit as consistent. Ericeira's reefs and points sit twenty five minutes south, Peniche's famous beach breaks are less than an hour north, both easy day trips. Surf out front whenever it's firing, or strike out to Ericeira or Peniche and stack the odds of scoring even higher. Santa Cruz has a selection of fun beach breaks of its own, from the punchier peaks right in town at Praia de Santa Cruz to quieter, sheltered options along the coast. The in-house surf school runs lessons and guiding for every age and level, making it a perfect family escape.

DINING

PORTUGUESE FOOD WITH A PASSPORT

The restaurant is a destination in its own right, known well beyond the hotel's guests, a reason locals book a table. An experienced, chef-curated menu brings together the best Portuguese food with a passport. Mediterranean flavour running through it all, but with some Middle Eastern and Japanese touches. Fresh fish and seafood lead the menu, backed by a proper vegetarian and vegan selection that never feels like an afterthought. Most of it comes from the on-site vegetable garden or local producers, the fish caught off this same coast. Seventy seats inside, thirty six on the terrace, all facing the Atlantic.

EXPERIENCES

BUILT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Noah is built for the whole family, with plenty of ways to fill the day beyond the surf. The on-site skate park draws kids and adults alike, and the youngest guests get their own activities built just for them, from helping out in the garden and hen house to musical and art expression workshops. From there it's yoga, pilates, and functional training sessions, plus treks along the cliffs above Santa Cruz's string of beaches. Evenings mean rooftop barbecues, bonfires with guitars, and the odd graffiti session on the wall out back. It's the kind of place where the down days keep you nearly as busy as the surf.
