Blue Horizon 2 is one of the Maldives best shared economic surf charters, also available for private groups. Refurbished in 2025, this 25 metre vessel has built a strong reputation for delivering epic, guided surf trips across all the atolls. With capacity for up to 12 surfers, it balances comfort, flexibility, and space. The vessel is supported by a large shaded surf dhoni which acts as a surf shuttle, storage and support boat. It also doubles as a platform for fishing, snorkelling, and island visits during downtime. Operating throughout the Maldives according to the season, Blue Horizon 2 ensures every trip follows the waves and maximises your surf time.

Surfing is at the heart of the Blue Horizon 2 experience. The charter operates on a fixed schedule that follows the seasons through the Malé, Central, and Southern Atolls. This flexibility ensures guests are always in the right place at the right time, guided by experienced local surf guides. Expect everything from playful peaks to heavy, hollow reef breaks. The surf dhoni and dingy ensures fast, hassle-free transfers to the line-up, reducing downtime and maximising sessions. For surfers who want progression, private coaching and photography can be arranged. Whether chasing barrels or fun, uncrowded waves, Blue Horizon 2 delivers an authentic Maldivian surf trip.

THE FOOD

Refuel Between Sessions

Meals on Blue Horizon 2 are hearty and designed with surfers in mind. The onboard chef prepares three meals daily, offering a mix of international dishes and local Maldivian favourites. Expect fresh seafood, grilled meats, rice, pasta, and tropical fruits, with vegetarian options and dietary needs catered for when requested in advance. Snacks are available between sessions to keep energy levels high. Dining can take place either indoors in the air-conditioned lounge or outdoors in the shaded dining space at the bow, with views of the atolls. A well-stocked bar offers soft drinks, beers, wines, and spirits at an additional cost.

Explore Beyond the Waves

Life onboard Blue Horizon 2 offers much more than surfing. The large shaded dhoni provides the flexibility to explore uninhabited islands, stop at remote sandbanks, or set off on fishing trips using traditional techniques. Snorkelling is another highlight, with the Maldives’ vibrant reefs home to turtles, rays, and countless tropical fish. Paddleboards are available for a gentle cruise in calm lagoons, while occasional beach BBQs and local island visits can be arranged.
